My OH would agree with you @Snorky85 . He grew up in Cleethorpes. He always goes to the chippy when he goes to a home match at Blundell Park (actually I don't know which chippy, could be one in Grimsby).

 

Could he be a purveyor of exotic herbs perhaps? Already of interest to Mr Plod, as well as rival traders of molecules with interesting properties?

 

Just received the election booklet.
We are so lucky in London. We have a choice of about 10 candidates for mayor. And would you believe it, they can all shttt miracles!
O brave new world that has such people in it.

I think they know that very well. That's not the problem. I don't even think it's the problem that they don't care what most of us think. I think the problem is they actually don't believe anyone actually matters. To politicians, I think people only matter if either they have a lot of money and influence, or temporarily if there's an election, and it's looking like it's even Stevens if they might win or not.

 

We are getting bombarded by the Greens in the local elections, none of the others seen to be bothering, I think the Lib lot might have put something out.

But one or two have been cornered on Facebook and it appears none of the things that bother people actually comes under their jurisdiction, its always fobbed off as being a county council problem.
Which makes me think why the hell do we need this lot of local town councillors, its a pointless position and pretty much a joke.

I will be voting. If just one person votes, someone will get in. I'd rather it was someone of my choosing.

I don't want to go through life thinking some idiot party got in because I failed to vote. I'd rather they got in because I DID vote for them.

Some might think that I made an error, but better to have tried, than have sat on my backside and complained, when I might have been able to make a difference.

 

I've always taken that view, @RowlandsCastle, but now I'm beginning to think by voting I am saying I support the system and thank you very much for allowing me a choice, when really I think the whole caboodle needs dismantling and restructuring from the base up.

We seem to have moved such a long way from the idea that politicians are there to represent people.
