The trouble is the media seem to be only able to manage one major topic at a time.

      And, preferably, a war ...

I am very doubtful that the Waspis will get anything. Too many of us. I would like to see state pension entitlement at a minimum of ten yrs, passed onto your estate if you die earlier. Sixty-six as the entry point discriminates against those who have worked in physically demanding jobs.

I have just been told that it will be "amazing" if I call back on Monday. I'm not entirely sure what makes a phone call "amazing" but didn't want to ask :th scifD36:

Well a call back from a GP would be classed as amazing for me.

Think of all the science and technology that makes the phone call possible. That's amazing.

I'm not sure if this is a moan or not. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

My phone has decided, correctly as it happens, that I might want to use Google maps to find my way around Bordeaux. It just offered to download the map in advance, I'm case I have no data when there. Fair enough.

But here's the twist, I haven't booked anything into my calendar I don't think, so my phone, or Google, has deduced that I intend to visit Bordeaux, presumably based on other online activities that it's been tracking.

For convenience, great. But for spooky tracking of activities, I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Gmail, google search, docs etc they try to get you. I still unfortunately use them got email, but little else. I also close any Google tab in the browser when I'm not using it. And I have my "host" file set to redirect most of their tracking...

It would be classed as a Lottery win here in Thanet.

Did you look up an area in Bordeaux in Google maps? It often prompts me after doing something like that

Whilst the blood products issue was undoubtedly a disaster, it should be remembered that the aim was to do good, and initially no one could have known the issues that would arise. Haemophilia killed many people before treatment was discovered.

That is indeed true. But, now that they do know, dragging their feet re compensation is pretty despicable.

I did, but I look up loads of places in Google maps, either when I'm daydreaming about going away somewhere, or if I read a news article of interest I sometimes like to understand where in the world it's on about.

Did you also perhaps press the directions button? I think that's what does it for me

I like looking at roads across the world. Sometimes I "go" to Sydney, or across Canada, or round Mauritius, just for fun! :) I have always loved maps and aerial views.
