Ah … the road to hell is paved with good intentions …. you see @shiney , were I of a different disposition and having a bad day I could interpret the last part of your post as irritatingly patronizing … and I’m absolutely sure that wasn’t your intention. Quite the opposite in fact. As I said, just one of the perils of forum life.

Not really. It's because you talk about wayward cows and unpleasant smells ... country life!

 

If somebody with knowledge of a subject can't correct factually incorrect statements or claims, who can?
I say carry on doing what you're doing.

 

I must have missed it. I didn't see anyone correcting any factually incorrect statements. I only saw someone telling us we were all wrong and should stop discussing our personal experiences and leave it to the experts.

 

Well, my moan is that the weather is absolutely gorgeous today and will be pleasant tomorrow and then on the weekend it will be raining and miserable.

I have a flexible schedule where I can work on rainy days and play outside on sunny ones but this dismal weekend weather is not fair for people who have to work M-F 9-5. Totally unacceptable

 

The problem is, it's often tempting to put off having a test, screening etc that we know is going to be uncomfortable/undignified/downright painful even when we know it's the right thing to do, particularly if getting to the appointment, parking etc is a trial in itself. By postponing appointments (for whatever reason, I'm sure there are valid ones) the NHS risks giving the impression that whatever it is isn't important, which makes many people more likely to put it off or just not bother.

 

There are some people who work M-F 4.30pm-9.30pm and that's with traveling to & from work as well 25 hour working week

 

I do that too and it's good practice. I often read posts that don't make much sense and it would have been better if the writer checked what they wrote before clicking 'Post Reply'.
Don't underestimate yourself.

Many people have told me that, including family. I used to believe them, but I've come to realize it was them that were thick, and had to say it to me in order to feel better about themselves.

 

I think we can all be thick in our own ways and also quite brilliant. The trick is not to judge yourself down by other people's differing and/or limiting standards.

As that old song says "Accentuate the positive".
