Good point; however it didn't stop some of the Renaissance Popes having children and promoting them.
The popes Alexander VI, Julius II, Adrian II, John XVII, Clement IV, and Honorius IV all had children while in office

@Obelix-Vendée The celibacy requirement only seems to apply to 'relationships' with women given the number of child abuse cases involving many religions. The former Archbishop of Canterbury had to resign because he swept accusations about other bishops and clergy under the carpet. His excuse in a recent interview - the problem was so widespread he couldn't cope with it! Gives a whole new meaning to 'Suffer the little children'

Its strange but when I was at school 6 weeks seemed like a lifetime.
Came as a shock when I went to work and you only got two weeks and a few days off each year.
School never gets you ready for real life.

A bit of an explanation from the web regarding Easter...

Why Does Easter For Follow The Lunar Calendar?
Easter is the Christian holiday that celebrates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. So the tradition goes, the prophet was crucified on the cross on Good Friday. Holy Saturday marks the day his body lay in the tomb, while Easter Sunday is the day he is said to have been resurrected from the dead.

The shifting dates occur because it’s important that Easter Sunday actually falls on a Sunday.

The reason why Easter follows the lunar calendar, unlike the other major Christian holiday of Christmas, is a little less obvious. However, it likely has something to do with Easter's roots in Passover, an important Jewish holiday that commemorates the liberation of Jewish people from slavery in Egypt. Since the Hebrew calendar is based on the lunar cycles, Easter also follows this trend.

What he said was that the number of cases coming across his desk was to many to cope with and this was a reason not an excuse for his failings.

@Sheal - the Orthodox church - Russia, Greece etc - links its Easter to Jewish Passover which seems logical given historic facts but the RC church and its Protestant successors adopted the lunar calculation for Easter based on the spring solstice and we know that dates from a council of church leaders held in 325AD.

@NigelJ @KT53 the Anglican church does not require celibacy so the prevalence of paedophiles and misogynists therein is purely a failure of personalities, training and management of sometimes inhuman resources.

And opportunity. Young people with impressionable minds in an environment where the whole concept is abuse of power and recourse to supernatural fear creates ideal conditions.

Ours is usually not much more than that and sometimes a lot less. It doesn't bother us as we don't watch films and don't stream anything.
