Got my renewal through from the RAC today, they wanted twice last years fee.
Quick phone call, chat with a nice human being and it's now only £20.00 more than last year.
Now why couldn't they simply send me that figure through initially.

Another insurer marketing ploy @NigelJ, try it on, if the customer doesn’t check then we make more profit :th scifD36:. Even worse if you sign up for auto renewal and the letter arrives while you’re away, doesn’t arrive, gets eaten by the dog or you don’t open your post regularly :thud:. There is a cooling off period though if you fall for this trap, but this means more hassle to cancel and request reimbursement and they know that too. Cynical, who me?

I always try to get a cheaper quote from a competitor before any annual renewal of insurance or other service and ask the existing provider to match it or better it. If they don’t, I go elsewhere.

I ordered a lawn aerator, which was duly delivered. The parts didn't fit together to make a workable aerator, so I informed the company.
A replacement was sent, with the instructions to combine the usable parts, and return the rest.
Same problem, so I informed the supplier, who instructed me to return both packages. They organised a date for the pick-up. Great?
        Humph!!
The courier (Evri, of course) arrived, saw the size of the two boxes (not that large really), and said he didn't have space for them - yet!! He'll be back later.
        Well, he hasn't returned.
Why do people use such dodgy companies as Evri? Just a group of so-called couriers, who clearly don't want to work, but do want the money!
I'm appalled at the service. It's not my first bad experience with Evri, but I do wish it were my last. They ought to be closed down - but the same people would start up as another outfit.

Evri couriers get paid pence for every drop off, and nothing if they can’t leave the parcel. It is not the couriers’ fault if the company scrapes out all the profit and leaves a shell of a system with people working long hrs for little pay in very trying circumstances.

IMO! :) My Evri courier is truly hard working and very reliable, though he has to do everything at speed and must spend his whole day under enormous pressure to perform the impossible, ie get through heavy traffic on a time schedule that assumes empty roads and green traffic lights.

I get the impression my Evri courier does it as a second job as he always turns up after 4pm.

I'd not blame him, most around here are non English and are very polite but in a hurry.

Just got a news letter from southern Water, one of the biggest rip off water companies in the country.
                  What we've done so far
We've improved water quality in Kent by replacing the sea outfall pipe near Swalecliffe. This was part of a major upgrade to our Wastewater Treatment Works and will help to protect and improve the coastline by ensuring any necessary storm water releases are taken further out to sea.

Oh well, that's solved that problem, just pump it further out.:roflol:

The French would charge us to clean it up if that happened just like they do to keep the immigrants in France

Well, I take back my comments. Same guy came THIS afternoon. Boxes collected - albeit on a day different to what he'd said.

I just wanted to follow through, rather than keep quiet.
