It's not really a problem as the liquid nitrogen evaporates, any liquid can go through the usual sewage system and the solid waste can be buried in a small plot or scattered under the roses.
Another idea that has been trialled is place body in container with strong sodium hydroxide solution, seal lid and heat to around 60°C for an hour or so. Result is strongly alkaline liquid and an alkaline sludge which are a bit of a problem to dispose off.
I didhear a very frightening crime thriller (Radio 4 again) where something similar was used to kill and dispose of the evidence.
As for me:generally there is sufficient wood around for a pyre; so place corpse on top of wood pile, throw on the can of lawn mower petrol, ignite and then my cousin can dance around drinking some of the good Scotch shouting burn you b---er burn. She'll be fine so long as she doesn't confuse petrol and Scotch in her "grief".

It must be quite demanding on energy to liquefy the nitrogen though.....

Perhaps they should remove the filled teeth before cremation and dispose of them separately, if it's the mercury that causes the worst of the pollution from crematoria.

OH and I both want the last fuss possible for despatching our remains and cremation or maybe natural burial. Not sure how either method would cope with my titanium knees.

Neither does cremation, which is how I ended up with one hip and socket and my brother ended up with the other as a last gift from our mother.

Sorry, I don't have time to watch the interview and I can't read the report in the paper as they don't allow it unless I sign up. As my old pal Groucho said:- "I wouldn't want to belong to a club that would have me as a member." :roflol:

I've somehow managed to come down with a cough even though I've made a point of not going near other people since Christmas. A brief exposure in a shop must have been enough to do it.

I got through the whole of 2024 without any illnesses at all.

Thanks but I just don't have time to watch long interviews as I'm much too busy with other things. The Rachel Reeves one doesn't come up as a video. :noidea:

Most of my news I get from listening to talk radio whist working in the kitchen :) or through the many meetings I have. Although nowadays I tend to be more interested just in what is happening in Shineyland. I'm giving up on the rest of the world :heehee:

Get well soon and keep out of the cold.

There is definitely something spreading. I got my one middle of December, and I didn’t have anything for years!

@NigelJ, I think pyres give off too many carbon emissions for Ed Miliband to give that the go-ahead. ;) I very much like the crocs and piranhas idea though, @Jiffy. :blue thumb: Might as well do something useful for the food chain. And it would be all over and done with pretty quickly. Relatives could stand round a large tank.
