He already believes everyone loves and admirers him. And his biggest lover/admirer is … himself!

One thing leads to another. In trying to find out where orange juice oranges come from, I stumbled upon an august publication called The Ecologist. Anybody buying orange juice might like to cast an eye over this article.

      Behind the Label: orange juice

Take your pick from the amount of diabetes inducing sugar in it to the length of time processed orange juice can be stored for (and what it goes through to become saleable orange juice) to deforestation of the Amazon to forced child labour.

I think I’m going to switch to fresh Spanish oranges and squeeze them myself.

My GP practice has shown its incompetence once again. I had a phone call today from a doctor telling me they had received the results of a biopsy I had taken in November and that everything was fine. He still wanted to make an appointment with me about the results and the treatment to get rid of the discolouration on my cheek. Great in theory but, as I had the appointment with him 2 weeks ago and have already started using the treatment it seemed a bit pointless. When I said that to him his only reaction was "OK. We don't need the appointment after all".
My neighbour, also with the same surgery, is now in hospital on an antibiotic drip because their GP refused to come out and see him, despite him being very breathless and barely able to walk. He simply prescribed antibiotics. Within a few days he was unable even to get out of bed so an ambulance was called. He has pneumonia!

As awful as your experiences have been @KT53 , I'm really not surprised. Am afraid to say that I have virtually zero trust in the medical profession these days. They have let me down too badly in the past. We can only hope that things will improve and soon. But ....there are too many Chiefs and not enough Indians nowadays

@Bluejayway My wife would certainly agree with you. She's had problems with her ankles swelling off and on for years. She would see one GP and be given 'x' medication and told to make an appointment in a couple of months. She would go back for the follow up appointment only to see a different GP who disagreed with the medication, change it, and tell my wife to make an appointment in a couple of months. She then sees yet another GP and the cycle repeats. She finally saw a nurse practitioner who said she would get to the bottom of the problem and made the appointment to ensure that my wife would alway see her. After about 12 months the nurse practitioner said there was nothing else to try and my wife would basically have to get on with it. That was literally the words used, I was with my wife at that appointment.
That hit my wife harder than being messed about by previous GPs. Making a pledge and then just saying "Ah well, that's it. I give up" is disgusting.

When i had to have a medical for HGV liecene (to get the liecene) i had a heart condition!! which i thought that i've never had anything wrong with my heart as i would know, Doc ticked the wrong box, fast forward, i needed another medical at 50 to keep my liecene, yet again i had a heart condision (which i didn't know) and DVLA wouldn't renew it, so i asked why, answer, becuse of heart condision, but i don't, anyway, form sent back to me for another medical and i went through thing with a fine needle, when i looked at the computer screen i could see why, Doc was looking at some one else's records even the name was no where near like mine, i asked him to put a note on the form to exsplane what had happened he wasn't to keen  + he wanted me to pay £214 for the both medicals, up yours i said you can have £107 for 1 as you were the one who made the mistake's :catapult:

I'm surprised anyone drinks orange juice from a can, or container and even considers it healthy, no processed fruit drinks are healthy IMO.
I'm sure there is an argument that even freshly squeezed orange juice is bad for you, you just have find the right scientist.
                      It rots your teeth BTW.

But if you like it drink it, it wont kill you.

I only eat or drink stuff I like, I cant be bothered with buying food and drink because it supposed to be healthy, what is healthy today will be bad for you tomorrow it's all part of the selling process.

A previous dentist recommended I drink orange juice dilute, with two parts water to one part juice.
It slowed the tooth rot, reduced my juice bill, and increased my liquid intake in one go.

My teeth lost the battle when I was still in primary school. Nothing on this earth can rot them now. I don’t drink alcohol so orange juice is my wicked pleasure. :)

Having raised the point with @Philippa about our home country/island/s I decided to have a read. It was lengthy so have restricted this post to the map below which is pretty much self explanatory.
