Apart from long jail sentences for carrying a knife in public which I don't think will happen what else can be done about knife crime

There's a march against knife crime in Sheffield today. At the end of it, there's going to be a mass balloon release. Why isn't this classed as "littering"? Where do the people think the balloons go?

      Barnsley?

Long sentences need to happen - it is not just a 'nice to have' anymore, it is now an imperative. That and bring back stop and search.

Hang em high, Maybe I've watched too many westerns, but there is no deterrent for murder anymore, in open and shut cases without circumstances it should be the ultimate IMO.

At least no half baked parole board would be able to let them do it again.

Spot on Pete. Read a week ago about a sexual predator who murdered a young lady he did not know after sexually assaulting her. The parole board released him early. Their reasoning was he was a model prisoner and well behaved. How thick can they get - there are no women prisoners in his prison for him to attack.

There's been so many cases where retrial or new evidence or whatever overturns convictions that I'd be against bringing back capital punishment, but I do appreciate the sentiment.

But there are open and shut cases, even those that plead guilty, there was a case recently of two kids killed with knives buy two others, it was even mistaken identity and some bloke was driving the accused around to find them.

                All three the gallows IMO.

Tell Amazon that as it is a regular occurrence of someone else's products being delivered to you that you will be charging them for storage or shall bin them or give the products to charity if no response within 28 days of this notice.. Also to stop delivering other people's orders to you as they will be disposed of immediately.

What is it with the BBC NEWS? All we get is Trump,Trump, Trump. More trumps than an all male stag night.
The media is just pandering to his need to be constantly in the limelight.

It makes a change from wall-to-wall war coverage though.

One of the BBC’s ticker-tape headlines today is the important info that Harry and Meghan clapped from the Invictus stands. I can’t tell you how relieved I am to hear this. I was so worried about it. Would they, wouldn’t they? Cutting edge news reporting at its finest!

                            ;)

The BBC especially are obsessed with Trump, they were the last time he was president, they seem to feel they have to report on everything he says or does, they will be mentioning his strange eating habits or toilet habits next, they dont like him so its their way of sticking the knife in.

Love him or loathe him, and I generally fall into the latter camp, he is one of the most powerful people on Earth. We can't just ignore his rantings, as there are potentially serious consequences to his statements.
He has said one thing I do agree with. He has said he has no plans to deport Prince Harry. In his words, Harry has enough problems to deal with - his wife.
