China did explore in a way. Not so much explore as expand. Over the centuries, China went from lots of small tribes, to many little countries (or provinces really), to the huge empire it is today. There are more people in the world that speak the two main languages of China (Mandarin and Cantonese) than there are speakers of any other language. China could have been the dominant force in the world, but eastern vales differ from those of the west. Whereas we have always been hellbent on profits, they were more keen to just get on with living I guess. That said, Ghengis Khan did strike fear into the hearts of people across a very big chunk of the world, including as far away as western Europe.

Clueless, I have certainly enjoyed this history lesson. Perhaps I will explore a good book store to find a history book, not boring or dry, to take with on my next holiday.
