I have something similar to Imps here, but Sis got it in Holland ... they are tiny little hard triangular things that you couldn't bite if your life depended on it ... think they are breath thingies.

Hmmm, now I am thinking of old-fashioned things like Violets ... were they not breath thingies also?

Sorry, I have a 'thing' about fresh breath ...

Old habits die hard Zigs! Sherbert fountains like a lot of sweets aren't what they used to be though. Bassetts Allsorts are still good. :)

I remember mint imperials from when I was a kid. They were rock hard and really strong. One lasted at least 5 seconds before you could crunch it, and the vapour that came off was enough to blast any amount of snot away.

Nowadays though they seem to be mostly just sugar. They crunch with the least amount of effort and the peppermint is barely more than mild flavouring, overwhelmed by the sugar.

Or maybe its just that my taste buds have changed.

Found this, makes interesting reading: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/3733757.stm

Who knew Haribo now manufactures Pontefract cakes!!??? Methinks Pontefract have missed a golden opportunity for an "authentic" product label/market (think Cornish Pasties ;) )
