No, you can set up bulb groups and things. So you can use as many as you like, and group them into rooms or whatever you want. Which allows you to change them all simultaneously.
I control them from my iPhone :)

I wrote that poorly. A remote comes with each bulb. 5 bulbs means 5 remotes. As only one is needed, then the 4 extra remotes are a waste of money/resources, are they not? Why can they, in this case, not be bought separately?

I've done something similar, went from 160W to 8W across 8 bulbs in the kitchen. £10!

Only down side is that they are at a frequency that makes things 'strobe' as they move, better explanation here: http://electronics.stackexchange.co...g-strobing-of-led-based-household-light-bulbs

Should've bought better, but I'm still happy with them!

I'm highly sensitive to flickering lights. This makes me even more cautious about using them. I've already had to change back to incandescent where I have some of my CFL lights. I've, also, never been able to stand having fluorescent lights at home.

When I was working we had fluorescent lighting and they were OK most of the time. The ones in the area that I worked in had to be changed regularly as I was able to see them flicker as they were wearing out. In areas that I didn't work I was able to tell approx. three weeks beforehand (by them starting to flicker) that they were going to fail.

The Screwfix ''Spring Deals' leaflets (we both have accounts) just got delivered and they have £5 off no minimum spend vouchers in them, so that's enough LED bulbs for the entire house sorted at only £1 each.

No BC ones in stock anywhere near us, but we'll get some more twin packs of ES to BC adaptors from IKEA @ £1 for a 2 pack. Found them really useful for cheap bulbs when the only ones left are ES http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90295615/

Reminded me of a tale from some years back where a guy was working with a lathe (or similar) the rotation of which just happened to match the flickering frequency of the fluorescent lighting - he stuck his hand in the moving machinery thinking it was stationary - and you can guess the rest :oopss:.
