I don’t know if that was addressed to me, but I’m well aware of the damage they can do, the little gits

I read on the Hart's Nursery site (they got Gold at Chelsea today, so I looked them up) about something to 'dissuade' lily beetles. It didn't say what it contained. Anybody tried such things? Or do you just use squishing and some systemics?

I have 40 or 50 groups of lilies growing here and, touch wood, all are clean and clear of lily beetles and their dreaded larvae. I used a single systemic insecticide a few weeks back but if there is an effective “dissuasion” of them I would be interested. Trouble is though they will still be present and need to munch on something:noidea:

Hi Freddy. No my comment wasn't directed at you. My practice when posting is to generalise and pass on any or what info/knowledge that I have. If intended for an individual, I will usually start with. Tom. Jane etc.

Verdun your display must be great. This in turn brings me to the point.

Are Lily beetles in some way, subjected to zones. I admit I haven't made a study of this but in the past, I have read that certain areas of the UK can be blighted whereas others, folk have never seen the Scarlet invader.
