The trouble with that, Kev, is that it doesn't just kill Lily Beetles it kills any insect it comes into contact with....bad and good.:WINK1: There's been a lot of people in this thread who use the method of squashing/squishing the red bad guy when they see him. Chemical insecticide sprays do have an effect on Bees, Hoverflies, Butterflies, Lady Birds, etc and they're already on the decline.:dunno:

Every day since I posted I have been killing them. Today I have killed 6, 3 on a lilly and 3 on a frit. These have mostly been on one lilly. The lillies that I have in pots are only just through and are not yet infected.

I supose when I'm on holiday for 2 weeks from the weekend they will have a field day.

The damned things got in my coldframe where my Tricyrtis were! They can have any Lilies that I have, but NOT my Toad Lilies:nonofinger:

Potted up the Gloriosa a few days ago - they're quite partial to them too.

Heh heh, I'll look like Corporal Jones.
Definitely the big boots for stomping, crunching and splatting. I believe those are the correct military terms!

Killed 7 yesterday, haven't been out today, so that'll probably be 21 tomorrow.

You have to paint a Lily symbol on the pot for every one you kill. 20 kills gets you Ace status. The Beetles are pretty thick really as they just sit there in the sun thinking all is well with the world until..........stomp:snork:
