dudes i got another orchid i dont know its name i have a cut from the root up how can i make it root?
how can i make it root? it has 2 leaves but no flower

 

Not sure I've understood your question - your message reads that you have just cut off a piece of an unnamed orchid above the roots, and are now asking us how to get it to root? Is this right?

Its an epiphyte, so it may grow if you put it in some damp orchid growing medium - but somehow I doubt it.

Pete any ideas on this one?

 

can i put it in water with groth hormone, kelp and ga3 acid? would it root faster
becouseit has lost one leaf allready and thers only 2 left

i want to grow some orchids from seed. but i have heard on the net that the seed needs to be infected with symbiotic fungus before they can grow.
were can i optain this fungus

 

Sorry can't help whilst I am growing orchids, I am not very knowledgeable about them - not sure why you cut the leaves away from the roots in the first place :confused: . Orchids are normally propagated by division, the method I intend to try in due course - though according to my book you can take stem cuttings, but they must have at least one dormant bud. Stem cuttings apparently should be stored in moist moss until roots form.

In respect of growing from seed, I haven't a clue , and it would not be something I would attempt - sounds like something more for the professional looking at whats involved.
