I don't think you will manage to get your soil acid enough to grow a Camellia. You could use a raised bed, with ericaeous soil, and only water with rain water, but even then it will put its roots down low hit the alkaline layer. My Mother [Alkaline soil too] used to grow them in half oak barrels. They never came to much ...

If you want to try to treat the soil you might be best off with Sequestred Iron (used to be made by Murphys, may be other brands these days)

I've pretty much given up on the Camellia anyway. Funny thing, at one point I thought the soil was TOO acidic. This was based on tests using one of those electronic PH testers.
