    Not if you can do them yourself. I know of people who have made faux rocks - basically polystyrene, or an upturned bucket!, on which they build up the knobbly shape of the rocks, the benefit being that you can then lift them up with one hand! They say that the materials are cheap. Whether they can be made to look realistically like tree trunk slices I don't know - if you are artistic I reckon that might not be too hard. Be interested to know if you turn anything up on your Googling.

        I'm guessing it depends on what kind of path you are wanting, and how much traffic it's likely to take.

        I could see it being OK if only really used during the summer months, and tends to fit a woodland setting maybe.
        If it gets muddy it could be a nightmare in winter.
