I think the stems are too round/smooth for cannabis plants, but my memory is too hazy. Found this googling (after talking to FRANK):

I've taken the small leaves off and had a good sniff and they don't smell like Cannabis, but maybe they don't when they are so young?

To be on the safe side, I shall take it back and reunite it with its friends!

If it had more leaves maybe I'd be tempted :loll:

Just to be on the safe side, it has been reunited with its friends

But if you were a criminal, you would never draw attention to yourself by reporting such a crime when there was no need to do so - so wouldn't the police reason that you were very unlikely to be the perpetrator? Or is that the reasoning of someone whose major brush with the law was that speeding ticket back in 2006?

I'm sure there are some decent coppers somewhere. In fact I think I met one once. For the most part though, I'm afraid coppers are just school bullies who never managed to grow up.

I still think it is not Cannabis ... but where was this found and was there a lot of it? ... it seems to be quite a mystery ... :heehee:

Apparently it was cannabis. Talking to another dog walker there yesterday, she pointed out the disposable rubber gloves which were lying around. She had apparently taken some of the bin bags off the plants so they could decompose. She said her bin at home stank of the stuff, so she rang the Police and reported it.

If it was Cannabis you would smell it.. I didn't realise until long ago, Cannabis sativa actually grows in this country as an escapee. I always thought the smell was due to some dead head smoking weed, but it turns out there were actually plants!

I bow down and apologise if I was wrong .. but I neither saw nor smelt (or is that smelled?) the plant. Does seem to be a dodgy situation however.
