well their is more to say kandy has left gc because of all this carry on, kandy made an observation from her experience on allotments and she had every right to make a topic of this nature.
marley said their was nothing more to say on the subject and that was were it should of ended but the conversation still went on.
I have known kandy nearly 2 years since we both joined and i am very upset that she has left gc after all this time, she has put a lot of superb topics and great photos on this forum :(

Cann't believe Kandy has left over such a trivial discussion in my oppinion if the subject matter had been posted in the correct category non of this would have happened,Kandys rat problem should be under pests labelled rats and Whiley could have avoided it.Whileys rat pictures should be in the pets forum labelled rats then Kandy could have avoided it,chill out get a life peeps,as Woo says we all have our own likes and dislikes but don't let it get personal. Hi all
I'm sorry to hear Kandy has left. Maybe she could have a re-think (anyone who can get it touch with her should ask her to re-consider). I think this is a great forum but that's not to say i've agreed with every word.

If i can say without getting boring, i think one of the problems with this type of communication is that you can't see the other persons face. So you miss a part of communication. this doesn't happen just with written communication, but with dialects, areas etc.

My husband often says 'what's the matter with your face?' I have now learned to reply with true Geordie venom 'it's the one i was born with' :D

I try hard to say what i mean on hear, but more that once i have given up, cos each time i re-read what i have written, i try to change it. if you knew me, you'd know what i mean, cos you don't you could take it the wrong way. See what i mean  . it's hard to understand sometimes.

I would ask Kandy & the other person that left to come back for all the good points of this forum. But i have to say if i was upset enough i would probably leave too. it has to be left to them. I'm sure there are some smug b.....'s on here, the same as anywhere else. i won't let them bother me as long as there are more 'friends' on here.

So, to Kandy, think again please.

To all GC members, i think you're 'alwight'

    cheers

    NoN Mod, its me pete.
I think that maybe the thread was posted in the wrong section, or maybe it wasn't, but we are getting a lot of upset people taking offence when offence is not meant.
In short, I cant understand why people look at threads on subjects they dont like.
If you take one look and you dont like what you see, dont go back to it, its simple.
I rarely go to certain parts of the site because they dont interest me, whiley may well have looked at this thread had it been posted in the pests section, under "Rats".
Come on, no more BSE, we are all resposible for what we do. [IMG]

To set a few facts right, No poison is instant but all are aproved for ues, if they werent then the goverment wouldnt let us use them.

Warfarin is ok in some areas but there is widespread resistence. The comonlly available poisons are either Bromadilon or difenacoum.

Brmadilone, diefenacoume or warfarin take around five days to work and the efect is cumulative.

The only quicker acting poisons are Flocoumafen and brodifacoum but these are many more times more toxic and are not for ametur use or use outside.

For the benefit of birds of prey and wildlife stick to warfarin, bromadilone, or diefenacoum and use bait boxes not open trays, preferably use traps first.

As for the need to control rats it is a very well known fact that rats spread some very unplesant diseses and the post is not about pet rats but VERMIN.

Pro mate, this has been established and clarified a few times over, that was part of the original missunderstanding. People thought i was giving biased opinions i think, that if read accurately i've cleared that up. The differences between wild rats and domestic rats are enormous.
