Sorry to hear the news at lunch time Catt,I do hope and pray that everything works out for you and your family.

Me and Mr K were both made redundant in 1990 from a company we had both worked together at me for 17 years and Mr K 22 years. We were both offered jobs down in South Wales with the Company {Only 17 people offered jobs out of 250.Initially there was over 1,500 of us but we had ten years of redundancy worries as our friends and workmates went} but as there was nothing down in Abercynan{spelling} apart from this company and the mines decided to take the redundancy instead. We thought that the Plessey redundancy package was good but a few years later we heard of people being made redundant from different firms and they got thousands of pounds pay offs.

To top it all my section had to sit every day for twelve weeks while the maintenance staff worked across the site dismantling the machinery ready to transport it all to Wales. To top it all ten days before I was due to leave my mum suddenly passed away so had that to deal with as well.

I can't say how things will turn out for you both but I and Mr K will keep everything crossed for all of you and as everyone else has said claim everyhting you are entitled to and I wish you all the best for the future:luv:

Thoughts are with you Catt .Keep your chin up :) if you can ,there will be something there for you I am sure at the end of the tunnel.

Or if you have a dream follow it with all your heart.

Sounds good so far Catt. Fingers crossed you'll be kept on when the new buyers arrive too.

I've seen redundancies being dealt with in other companies and I agree, its very upleasant, even if you aren't involved. Being there in the thick of it must have been dreadful :(
