I wouldn't call it a house plant by any stretch, you need good light cool conditions and a draught:biggrin:.
Good say in a porch where it stays above freezing but the door gets opened frequently.

        Not like I did!
One in the g/house - dead.
One in the shed - dead.
The large one outdoors - dead!

Nice buy Sal! Looks like what I used to know as the yellow form.................

Here is the more commonly available orange form................

Correctly positioned you can get this in a single season (last year)...............

        And in November last year..............

              That's amazing Victoria!

Maybe not, but certainly more (better?) care needed than mine got!

              Noisette - that's a really kind offer.

Normally I would love to take you up on that. But I am planning to take down and replace my greenhouse and summerhouse in a while, and I already have too many exotic plants that won't get the protection or care or space that they are going to need.

Do show us some photos of things that you are growing or just stuff growing around you, that we might regard as exotic in the UK. Pictures from abroad are a real ray of sunshine, which is why Victoria's posts, from Portugal, are always so welcome.

Will get busy with the camera as soon as it stops raining:) Just to add an alternative form of winter care for Lotus.....a flimsy plastic green house with a big, furry cat sleeping on top kept mine going this winter:snork: It is flattened, but alive, (the Lotus, that is) .

Went past there today as it's a Bank Holiday here too and we went out to lunch. T'other half said he didn't think the wall was two meters tall, perhaps 1.5 meters ... WRONG, it's over three meters tall ... it's on a roundabout which was busy due to a festival going on so couldn't jump out and measure ... :spinning:
