The other half could do with some of that anyway M! No wind OUTSIDE last night, blowaway still intact.. so far!

So last year I bought load of bulbs, was struggling with places to put them and I came across bulb lasanges..so I crammed them in and was really anxious about how many bulbs I put in each pot/colour combos. I should have taken more pics over the last few weeks but never mind.. they haven't turned out that bad. Here one pot about a fortnight ago, had no idea I put an iris in, it's lushhhh!!

Ah thank you :) pretty pleased with myself (and my boy!).. although just noticed all the cracked concrete around the front step and the load of cement and stones in my grass, had work done last year so think I need to sort that out next!!

Wow @Lynd I thought I was bad :heehee:
Keep up the great work it will pay off soon.
Just a thought to save your mini GH blowing away I would scree some metal eyelets to the wall and zip tie to them. Nothing worse than seeing your hard work scattered all over the garden

Been treated to 6 bags of compost (3 for 10 in asda), new green pots of various sizes, bulbs/tubers, 3 trellis, 2 big plastic troughs, cane mates and some bfb from wilko.. happy lady :)

Potted up the James Grieve Apple tree finally, takes one bag of soil for the big pots! Didn't tie the gh up so got that weighing it down.
Potted 25 Dutch iris and one purple iris rhizhome (seperate pots, 13, 12, 1)
Potted a floribunda rose, Chinatown. £1 in wilko!
Potted 6 dahlias in a huge pot, 4 new ones Park Princess, Playa Blanca, Franz Kafka and snowflake and 2 from last year.. may jiggle that about, I don't want them overcrowded.. tubers are so deceiving!!
Potted up 30 blue anemone and 14 pink ranunculus in 2 pots.
Pulled up my lillies and repotted into new pots with more new lillies, had load of red ants in one pot and mini lillies..ugh! Gonna sow some nigella on top in next week or so.
Forgot I also had BlackBerry canes so stuck them in a pot for now, will put them in the ground when it's bit drier.
One rudbeckia, one echinops, few snap dragons and hollyhocks, all tomatoes and the cactus dahlia have germinated.
Lobelia isn't looking too bad, got some green fuzz considering the cats..Think I'll end up buying them!
Few pots have been knocked off since but think I've saved them minus the coreopsis, it seems to have been misplaced!?
Few things I noticed round the garden, the lupin I hacked to death (not on purpose) last year has got little leaves emerging! Fuschia Alice Hoffman, has teeny tiny green buds, Spanish bluebells and grape hyacinths have finally got flower buds emerging, tulips are up, aliums got leaves, aquilegia have spread out, camellia is looking browner so pulled worst leaves off and fed it some more and lastly the bleeding heart is showing some life.. honestly thought it was dead! Will get some pics when it's drier :)

I'm worn out just reading that Lyndz :heehee:
Love Bleeding Heart! It's always a joy when the new shoot emerge in the Spring. I have a "Ghost Bleeding Heart". Well, that's not it's *real* name :snorky: but it is a pure white one (and a gift from a special friend) and I'm watching it emerge with a smile on my face and joy in my heart. Glad your one is coming back for you

Doing the lillies in the kitchen at 6pm on Friday wasn't the best idea I've had.. I'm still cleaning the soil up!

Had a lil gander when it was dry earlier..
Lupin, slugs have beaten me to it so quite rightly I'm going to poke them in the eye if I catch them.

lots and lots of pots.. all made up apart from direct sowing on top.L-R lillies, ranunculus and anemones, dutch iris, iris rhizhome and the floribunda..think it needs a bigger pot if I'm honest, next over is more anemones put in last year but none have flowered yet.
                        20160329_111417.jpg
L-R, pink spirea (not really in the pic), potted up small lillies, teacup rose, dutch iris, ranunculus and more lillies
                        20160329_111410.jpg
Apple tree potted and the peony is coming on well in the small terracotta pot.. think I'll need to pot it on?!
                        20160329_111404.jpg
lasanges.. hyacinths have come on a bit and still waiting for white daffs to show, tulips up and something else is coming up blind in both pots, no idea what I put in :S think its due to over cramming? and the tete a tete daffs are starting to flop, primrose look nice and bright though..

L-R, Pieris little heath, nice bit of grass in my patio, thornless blackberry started to sprout out, rhubarb showing a leaf, peony and crappy pots.

and one lot of my strawbs, could do with another tidy and a repotting, looking forward to these bad boys, the few fruit that came from them last year were so sweet and tasty!

if the rain gives us a break the end of the week may cut the grass again.. might sow a few things later on tonight, not sure what though I really haven't got the space!

Lyndz, just a heads-up really regarding your strawberries in pots.
I was looking at one of my strawberry pots last week and when I removed some moss from the top, I saw a wiggly thing in the soil: flipping vine weevil grubs  When I looked them up, it seems they are partial to strawberries in pots. So, have a little rummage in your strawberry pot soil ... I think I've managed to save mine :fingers crossed:

@Lynd Hiya I'm sure anything can be plunged as long as you dig them in deep enough what i try to do is cover the rims with soil to hide them or if its not that deep with soil i can top it with some chipped bark to disguise the rims ..then i just pull the chip bark back and dig out the pot if its planted up with Spring bulbs when they finish flowering (they are the ones i usually put in one of my really large terracotta pots which then i can fill up with annuals for the summer) or if its frost tender like my Chocolate Cosmos cosmos-astrosanguneus.jpg or Salvia Patens Salvia_patens_Royal_Blue Angel.jpg or my Dahlias i put them in a large pot and then plunge them into the ground in the borders ...i find it easier in my garden as i found i was digging into the bulbs, tubers or plant when i went to get them out at the end of the year as my plants are all cwtched up against each other :wub2:
Hope that helps :) ....i think you could try the log roll to finish off the edges if you have some.... or failing that iv'e picked up some low fencing like this 3-piece-white-fencing_2.jpg but in green to put around my Oriental poppies to give them some support ...:dunno: not sure it will work but at a £1 a panel its worth a try

Thank you so much for all the info on plunged pots but I've decided I'm not going to do it.. we really do plan to leave the house :( I went and bought a load of pots and I'm just going to keep them on the patio, saves digging out a trench and then refilling if we're only here for another 4 months or so. With the plants I've sown I'm just going to put them in the back of the lawn and see what happens, if there's any nice ones I'll pot them up and take them with me.
I've been fancying growing a chocolate cosmos, they look stunning never actually seen or smelt one though! Maybe next year, I've told Mr Lynd "I'm done" ..:loll:
