      hows poor Maddies leg now Pam? it does look a nasty bite :sad: when our dogs get cuts/scratches ect i usually just give them a good clean & then smear a good dollop of honey onto it, honey has natural antiseptic & antibacterial properties & of course it'll do them no harm if they lick it off :doggieshmooze:

      Coincidentally , I was going to suggest Manuka honey too. My daughter puts it on the lesions of her horses when they return from a "rough hack",

      p s. I use it on my leg wounds that I get from stumbling clumsily around in the border!!

        It is fine, no swelling or infection and she is not favouring her good leg any more. she got off very lucky, I kept her on the lead for a few days, but she has had some gallops now and she appears sound after them.
