Well Roders, was I right or was I right!! I Knew you would like it, you just can't not. Glad you had a lovely holiday. Its a fantastic view from the cable car is'nt it. We haven't found a bad hotel in madeira yet. It may be an island, but there is so much to take in. We'll be back there in December. Another good thing going for it, it's warm all the year round.:thumb: 02

Lovely photos Roders, now that is one place I would like to visit especially with all the flowers you have shown us.A gardeners paradise me thinks and doesn't the QE2 look grand as well.:thumb:

What a shame we couldn't have kept her in this country to bring in some much needed income.though I suppose only people with pots of money would be able to afford to stay on her though:rolleyes:

Thank You for sharing your holiday with us all :)

Lovely pictures Roders, glad you had a good holiday. We have been to Madeira twice and seeing your pictures brought back some good memories. Great views from the cable car did you come down on the toboggan?

Fabulous island, friendly people, good walking but don't go if you like beach holidays :).

I agree about the Cliff Bay - and the island :thumb: :D. There are some hotels on the island that have a higher star rating and are more expensive (although the Clff Bay is also expensive) but are not as good. It is an attractive hotel (not like the glass and concrete monstrosity next door) and in a lovely position. The bedrooms and public rooms are great and the food is excellent. The staff are efficient and fantastically friendly (no I don't own the hotel :D) not like the stuffy Reids next door (the other side). They do fairly good deals if you book directly with them. If anyone is thinking of trying them then go on their website and look at the deals. Then email them and ask them if they will let you have the 'Prestige Club' deals saying that you have been recommended by one of their 'Club' members. You may be lucky enough to get it. We did :thumb: :D :D
