That does seem a lot, but as I said earlier your house valuation will be much lower than that with the garden in it's current state. I get the feeling that even if you managed to track down other contractors they would charge a similar amount.

I’m hoping they are using up the old stock of Kurtail which should do the job. A single spray was very effective so it sounds like they are doing return visits to insure it’s fully treated.
Looking at them I would say they are a good company and would expect them to cover any problems.
I don’t think they will change the contract and the way it was worded gave me a hint they still have stock of the old Kurtail which I believe is what they maybe using. If so it should be effective and the garden should be nice and clean once the work is carried out.

I can't find the bit about 10 year guarantee but do remember the guy who did the site visit telling me any sign of regrowth within 12 months and they make another application without charge. I forgot to ask what chemical they use.

I've struggled to find them as they are few and far between. Also actually getting someone to come and give me a quote has been a problem. I contacted another (since this quote) and was told he'd call me back "when the weather is better" (raining when i phoned). There's been three dry days since and is sunny and warm now....yet i've heard no more from him.

Ideally i just wanted at least one more alternative quote to compare but at this rate even that's not looking likely!

thats good, its what I thought as they come across as a good company.
They may not tell you the name of the chemical but they should do a good job and see it through if you were to go with them.
The chap knows that if any plants do appear it will be just the odd one and easier to treat.

If you had this the cost would be a lot higher for the work involved.

Sadly the cost for your work is dependant on the company.
Using for example the Bali site you can see other local companies that maybe of interest.

You want al least 3 quotes, anyone who fails to contact you back is not worth chasing.

Thanks for that link...absolutely brilliant! :blue thumb:

Called a couple off it already but with it being Saturday they are closed, so will definitely be hitting the phone come Monday.

Yes i agree on your last point too. I wanted more than one quote from the outset and anyone who doesn't come back to me, i don't chase. Either they don't need the money or don't want the work.

There is a horsetail/maretail killer called Kurtail evo on eBay, I can't say it's the real deal, maybe someone more informed that me can tell you if it is.

As far as I can see you can just use buy it now on eBay, I'm thinking if it's just for the domestic market it wouldn't be allowed to be sold on eBay, but I could be wrong.

I wonder how many desperate 'end users' take note of that?!!

Ok so ProGreen and eBay are happy for it to be sold, but you should be trained:scratch: then why sell it:scratch: I'm sorry but if I were faced with £800+ or around £50 and it worked it's a no brainer, surely if you follow the instructions you can't go wrong.
