The Thread was, as you know, Pete, started by Ziggy in good faith and the hope that reasonable, intelligent discussion could take place, and giving the chance for folks to express their admiration or loathing of Lady Thatcher. So far that has taken place, with exception to the video with the swearing in it, which shows that divisive as this subject is it hasn't divided GC in any acrimonious way.....which makes me awfully glad to be in GC. I take my "hat" off to you all!!:coffee::snork:

One thing I know that Margaret Thatcher did for women in the workplace was to demonstrate the ability and skills that females can bring to a more senior level. There are now more females taking responsibility for the way work is managed than there were before her appearance on the scene.
For that, I commend you Margaret Thatcher,

I personally never met Mrs Thatcher,I certainly never agreed with her ideology or her polices but I will show her the same respect that I would for anyone else,I have to separate the Lady from her politics .R.I.P.

          Latest news:

"Thinking of changing the name of the Falkland Islands’ capital Port Stanley to Port Margaret.
Tory MP Tobias Ellwood, a Parliamentary aide at the Foreign Office, said: “I would warmly encourage the Falklanders to consider this as a fitting way to remember her legacy"

Also a statue to be placed on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar square.

I read a thread on A N Other forum the other night where the poster was suggesting that one of the new battleships should be called HMS Thatcher or similar in Margaret Thatcher's memory; you know, its maybe not such a bad idea, as the Americans have already named one of their ships as a tribute to David Cameron

              Good one, fc :dbgrtmb:

Actually, I've been to Ponce in Puerto Rico (worth a couple of days - or more if you want to swim and sunbathe) and had a really good Mexican meal at a low price at Maria Bonita. Yum, Yum. :blue thumb:
