Was she also wearing gloves, or handling every single gate latch on her walk? (And then touching inside her mask, her mobile phone, etc., etc.). So many people still haven't got a flippin clue.

Sorry off topic, people are getting paranoid.
Just looked up puncture repair kit, wont go into why, anyway Halfords £3.

Safety data sheet avilible, is it just me that cant work out why I would need safety data sheet to use a puncture repair kit.

Who was it said, stop the world I want to get off.

When I reply, I don't copy & paste etc, I just pres "Reply," then delete the bits of text I'm not specifically replying to, mainly to trim the whole thing down as it seems pointless having the rest of the persons post there. I didn't realize it caused any probs. What's the best way to do it?

I totally agree Pete, its a major concern of mine and was the main reason that when it all first began I avoided masks like the plague, if you pardon the pun. To me, they represent an erasure of identity, and are a barrier to conversation and pleasantry, and as I've mentioned before, may even scare some children. Masks aren't natural and are not what I would advocate in a normal set of circumstances. However...

These are far from normal circumstances. I want this infernal virus to be over sooner rather than later so we can go back to enjoying ordinary life. More importantly, I wantit to stop killing people, and if wearing a mask for the shops or the odd hairdressing appointment helps even 0.1% then I really see it as a positive thing to do, on balance. Very little in life is 100% good or bad in my view, its a trade-off, and I feel that protecting life is more important. I've also become more adept at waving and even using my eyes to signal a "hello," or a quick cheery gesture, which works nicely especially in the case of young ones. Adults are generally aware of why you're wearing the mask, and I don' think anyone is particularly looking for much communication in the street or shopping aisles at present. We just want to get through this blasted thing.

Simon, if you right click on the part of the post you wish to use, then hold down the shift key, you can drag the cursor along to where you want to finish, it will highlight in blue. Then release the shift key and hit the reply button.

If you're using a touch pad hit it twice instead of right clicking.

As a point of interest does anyone have figures from Muslim countries? A high percentage of women wear burkas and I wondered if that has made a difference.

Well, the news is saying that masks in shops etc. will be compulsory from the end of next week - enforceable by the police. As with everything else, we shall soon get used to it:- seat belts, crash helmets, smoking in public places etc. (not sure what may be included in the etc.). Liquids on planes, taking off coats, jackets, belts, mobile phones etc. when going through checks at airports :ideaIPB: They should also ban mobile phones and popcorn in cinemas - as well as turn the volume down in there! :old:

Following up on a question asked some time ago on who would bother to try and enforce the mask rule on Transport For London vehicles, apparently tfl have enforced the refusal to board on over 3,000 people but only issued about 100 fines.

A 3 layer face mask...it makes breathing uncomfortable and you are constantly breathing back in the air you have just exhaled.
I also wear hearing instruments which get tangled up in the elastic and when you go to take the mask off, they want to come off as well.
                    Beam me up Scotty.....:gaah:

I saw someone who had a mask with a single wide elastic (presumably) band that went round the back of the head instead of over the ears. She was wearing hearing aids. :noidea:

Good to know it's quite safe in shops for the next week and a half, after that it becomes more dangerous and we will require masks.
The experts must be really clever to be able to work this kind of thing out.

Should mention, I'm being sarcastic.
