The quality of the photographs are so good I just wonder what sort of cameras people are using to get such great results. Having bought a Nikon Coolpix 4600 last year I still don't seem to get such good results. Or is it a that you need an eye for a good pic as well as a decent camera?

    I use two Nikons.
A Coolpix 7900 which is a great little camera for fitting in a shirt pocket when out and about. And a much bigger (about SLR size), though lower resolution Coolpix 5700 which allows much greater manual control and also has a tiltable screen which is great for taking shots at ground level or for when you need to hold the camera above your head.It also has a wired remote control which is good for long exposures using a tripod.

Honeybee - Just keep your eyes open and the camera handy. You could come up with a winning pic just as well as anyone else. [IMG]

I agree - being a very much point and click photographer myself. Thats where Digital really comes into its own - as an amateur, you can take lots of pictures and one or two will capture what you saw/felt - the rest can be junked at no cost.
