It's easy to miss in a sudden burst of enthusiasm to submit a photo, but one condition of entry to both competitions is that photos must be taken in the current competition month. In the present case this is May 2007.
It's a bit of a pain if you've got some super photos in your archive but it really does add a bit more of a challenge to get out looking and snapping each month.
I hope I've not offended anyone by mentioning this, but there have been entries that are not current month or year and Marley isn't around at present to pick up on it and it would be a shame if entrants missed out on a win due to missing the small print [IMG]

I read the rules and all my photo's are the current month (swat or what) :D . However I have a question about the rules...it states that photo's can be cropped or enlarged but not enhanced, isn't cropping enhancing? Can we crop (i havn't cause I wasn't sure) or just resize smaller?

ohh D1zi please don't start all this up again!!! :D [IMG] :D a few months ago, the rules for the photo comp were re-jigged to make a 'level-er' playing field. different people had different ideas on what were acceptable enhancements - changing levels or tones, cloning out objects etc. most people agreed that cropping a photo isn't an enhancement and so it was allowed, whilst all other enhancing wasn't. Hence the start of the enhanced photo comp, where pretty much anything goes!!
    hope that helps.

great photo's too by the way! [IMG]

I did not like to mention it BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT, I did wonder if some of the pics in last months comp were actually taken in April.

Rich if you took the pic of the Bald Eagle, I am really envious, great photo, likewise GlenW your pics looked fantastic, I have always been a nature lover but never seem to have my camera with me when I see something spectacular.

Came acorss a Little Owl sitting in a tree a few feet from me last week, obviously I have no camera with me, then when I do carry it with me, NO MATERIAL to photo, ho hum.

hi sue, glad you like my photo's, i promise they were all taken last month. It is soooooo frustrating when you happen across something you want to take a photo of and your camera is nowhere to be seen isn't it? i've started taking my camera virtually everywhere i go, just in case :D now my frustration is that i don't get my camera up to my eye, focus and shoot as fast as a lot of my intended subjects seem to be able to slither, run or fly into hiding! [IMG]
the photo of the grass snake i entered last month was 1 of about 30 or so i managed to take. it was only the 2nd time i'd seen a wild snake and was so pleased with my photo's - then the GC bunch don't vote for it! :( there were actually about half a dozen males and 1 female all in a small quarry about 500 yds from a very busy dual carriageway and even though they all slithered under rocks pretty sharpish, i sat for about 10 mins and there animal insticts brought them back out! [IMG] [IMG]

the water vole and moorhen photo's were taken about 10 mins apart on the banks of a local canal.
I was out last weekend and got some better watervoles shots on the banks of the river Derwent in derbyshire. they came so close at 1 point that i couldn't focus in on them!!

I hope the bug doesn't bite you as hard as it did me, you'll so find yourself not be leaving the house without your camera! ;)

    happy snapping!!

Suedobie I don't know about anyone else, but all my photo's taken each month that I enter are of that current month. My cat one was taken when we were staying down in Devon with my sister over the Easter holiday.Perhaps sometimes members are so eager to put up their photo's they don't read the rules properly as the rules do say that each entry be given a title and some don't even have that, but I can live with that,I don't know what others think [IMG]

[IMG] I have to say that the standard of entries is very high this month & the different choice of intepretations you have all found is wonderful! [IMG]

 You know, I think this may be one of the hardest months to choose just three..!!

    [IMG] Well,"Good Luck" everyone..!!! :D
