Melons Have Come

    One plant is still alive today. Might do another sowing though.

    Don't know that one, so I'm no help Ziggy :(

    I grow "Sweetheart" because it seems to make more leaf than the other more "poncy" ones I have tried over the years, and in years where I have not had time to hand-pollinate and have mostly abandoned them Sweetheart has always set fruit where the others have just sulked.

    So I reckon Sweetheart is the "thug" of the Melon world ... :thumb:

      I'm a Melon Virgin Kristen so its all new to me. Do need to get a halogen on the one surviving seedling though.

      If you've run out of seed and have to buy more suggest you try Sweetheart, plus whatever else takes your fancy. I'll bet you a pint that Sweetheart performs the best, and that you can't tell any difference on flavour. (This bet is for a virtual pint, naturally!!)
