So, here we are. I will start by talking about the train trip that began in the morning at 6.30 am from Waterloo station.
I arrived to the station at the last minute because there were little more than 20 minutes to the train's departure, however, I did manage to just make it!

The journey was very pleasant lot of space available and just the right temperature, but, little fault, automatic toilet with no working light or window so pitched dark once the door locks.

The trip from Waterloo to Dorchester South lasted 3 hour. Rain for good part of it, but not at arrival.
Just as well, so it didn’t damage the sign that Ziggy was holding with the "miraflores" and the "smilies" on... he was in the parking on the side of the station and I nearly fell off the stairs (close to the rail) while I was descending it because I was laughing so much for the unsual surprise…

After the pleasantries exchanged begins the journey by car .
I found the appearance of the vegetation rather familiar, it reminds me of rural areas of Northern Italy.
It was an excellent idea to make the journey by car along the coast, one thing that I have never experienced here in England.
In Italy, when I travel from Piedmont to Tuscany, I travel on the motorway so the sea is visible but quite away. But in this case it was very close. Very nice typical houses along the way.

Eventually here we come to the Ziggy living area which I don’t know why but I find it so secluded and nice beyond words.
It is only a long space with a caravan on the left, space used for parking the car to the right side of the caravan and little further a small table on the left and then the plot, which is just the right size to be kept well and supply enough food.
The view is to the field, which normally is empty, but in this occasion was very lively.

In fact, just around the corner, the show grounds can be accessed by foot or by car since there is ample parking space.
What catches your eye immediately is that the atmosphere is very cheerful and there is a big presence of children. This is probably explained by the fact that there are many entertainments for children starting from the usual fun fair inflatable slides or inflatables “hamster” balls in the water, to different kind of craft which are not the classic gluing stuff but much more involving . Children are also involved in live shows with animals.

There are quite a few animals: cows, sheep, donkeys, pigs, poultry. There is an incredible presence of dogs both walking around with people or performing in the arenas (for example a big number of them released at once whist a fake ferret is pulled under a pile of sacks which they eventually knock down). Also dogs rounding up ducks etc
Also hawks performing and ferrets racing in pipes.

Food stalls are numerous and concentrated in the same area that makes it easy to decide what you want to eat.

This is the second show that I have been to (Sandringham previously) and I found this one to be definitely more children oriented, “informally elegant”, little about gardening, whilst my best memory of Sandringham is the splendid setting and the garden displays.

Miraflores was everything that i'd pictured her being, a charming, gorgeous Italian lady who is every bit as beautiful as her posts:wub2:

Well done Ziggy! To get prizes at your first attempt must be encouraging for you. Shame about the beetroot though, I have a great beetroot Chutney recipe if you want it...

                    WHAT A NICE IDEA!!!
I know that we also have to check the depht of the harbour in relation to the size of the ship... That one could be too expensive, but we could go for a fishing boat...

                    ahahah
