Totally agree Tetters. I do hope I never offended any members by my comment. I accepted that members here do share a greater interest in plants etc and that buying from the likes of DA roses may have been the concept. " You get what you pay for" Thankfully members feel this is not always the case.

Yes Tetters. No low flying pigeons on here or fancy cakes. Take care.

I think I'll have to eat my words.:biggrin: After moving into my new home a year ago I said I wasn't going to have roses here. I've just ordered another three which now totals eight. It's hard to give up an addiction! :)

'Crazy For You' a lovely gift from your good self @ARMANDII :) That's in my back garden. The others are/will be in the front which is intended to be natures garden so they are in-keeping with the rural aspect. I've planted four Rugosa's 'Alba' at the drive end to eventually close off the lawns from the road there. I've ordered three 'Marjory Fair' to disguise my domestic oil tank from the road also. I can't plant all the way round that because of the access needed for filling. I don't think the delivery person would be too happy being stabbed by rose thorns.

I'm also thinking about dog roses along part of my side boundary in the back garden, hoping the horses in the neighbouring field don't see them as food. :th scifD36:

I have amongst my climbers, "Teasing Georgia" Good strong yellow rose. I was one of the selection I bought when redesigning the garden. Due mainly to health issues, several of my roses have gone unpruned for a while. I think it has done some good. My climbers are against the dividing fence from down stairs garden [TIP]. I have decided to let the climbers mix together. As Teasing Georgia has made good growth, I intend training the leaders along the fence. Sadly it looks as if my Dorothy Perkins has suffered from the neighbours washing line. Seems she doesn't always rinse the washing enough.

I wonder at times if the changes in our weather patern, if the rose flowering period will gradually extend.

I think it already has, Mike. Several of my Shrub and Climbing Roses seem to be flowering longer and increasing their repeat flowering. Having said that my Clematis and other Hardy Perennials are also flowering out of season.:dunno::coffee::snorky:

Thanks for posting the pictures Armandii. 'Crazy For You' did flower this year but I didn't take any pictures as the first flowers hadn't fully coloured up. Next year, with more maturity I think it will look lovely. :)

There are at least 2 more climbing roses and one more shrub rose who's names are lost in the mists of my memory or were bought without knowing their names. I named the two unnamed climbing roses, to the delight of my wife, after her Mother (Elsie Jones) and her Father (Arthur Jones), who she lost within 11 weeks of each other, the previous year.

Earlier this year i tried my hand at taking some cutting from one of my climbers, after a quick google and a few snips i had two stems to plant, i wasn't expecting them to grow but kept a eye on them and kept them wet and sure enough they have grown :).
