I love the colour, bloom form and scent of Munstead Wood but - for me - it's a helluva prickly devil, very prone to black spot and throws out spindly weak stems. Haven't yet quite been able to bring myself to dispose of it, but this year might be its last....

Prickly devil, yes. Spindly growth and awkward habit, yes.
But mine is still only a 2 year old and seems to be getting better. It has not suffered badly with blackspot too.
I imagine you would have a few takers should you decide to evict yours @Topbird

'Pastella'.. like a small version of Eden [Pierre de Ronsard].. but much better with rain resistance.

'Scented Garden'.. one of my favourite roses here..

My Munstead Wood took several years before the spindly growth stiffened up. Colour wise it is my favourite rose.

            Pestilence season is upon us.
Squadrons of sawfly in the air here, and I’ve just dispatched my first lily beetle

Harlow Carr (a cutting from my standard). The robin is still nesting in the pot, so we’ll soon have robin chicks.

I think it's the caterpillar of the Hummingbird Hawk Moth, which is a rather lovely thing I see in the garden here later on.

                  Fine roses^^..

'Lavender Lassie' opened today, delicious scent..

..and how exciting to have a robin's nest in a pot, but a strange place to build one I'd have thought..
                  .. lovely gardens !

You do have quite a collection, @Mrs Hillard. :blue thumb:

I had no idea there were so many varieties. I thought there were 3 main groups and one or two of each colour in each, making about 20-30 all told. I can see I underestimated.

..very much so @ViewAhead .. I understand there are some 37,000 different rose varieties for sale worldwide, at any given time.. thankfully not all sold here, it's confusing enough as it is..

It seems I've had around 35,278 of them.. - no, only joking, maybe a 1000 at most..
