Oh ok, at least now you know. I'm not sure if that one is still in commerce, so just as well you got a cutting. Perhaps Trevor White has it.
Peter Boyd is the no. 1 for spinosissima roses, I think he has a National Collection, some very obscure.
    This is 'Falkland' at Mottisfont..

This is Rosa "NOID", as I grew it from a bouquet of them bought by my partner. Roses root quite well! Sadly no perfume, but no thorns, a better red than it looks here, and beautiful shape. Any suggestions as to which it is please?

Lizzie, I think you got those cuttings mixed up. Do you have 'Iceberg' rose in your garden? It looks like that rose to me.

@Mrs Hillard , Thanks for your reply but no, I don't have Iceberg. The only white/cream roses in the front garden are Claire Austin and Chandos Beauty (which was a very sickly, tiny specimen) so I wouldn't have taken a cutting from that. Claire Austin, as you know, has an incurved form so that's also a non starter. My new Desdemona (which is now next door to it) arrived after the cutting started to take so it's not that either.

Given that the back garden is up two flights of steps and some way away, I'm sure I wouldn't have taken a cutting/pruned a bit off and then walked down with it and stuck it in the front garden! As you say, odd things happen and I'll just go with the flow and see how it develops, hopefully with a blue tinge so it matches the original!

This is the biggest rose bloom I've ever had on my old Royal William - nearly 7 inches across! It's a much deeper red than shown and the perfume is exquisite. 20240613_131837.jpg
