    I think I want Chandos Beauty @lizzie27! She reminds me a bit of my Jardin de Granville in France.

      It is a beautiful rose @Busy-Lizzie, I'd have to look up my garden diaries so see where I got it from if you'd like to know but I expect Beales stock it in Norfolk.

      Gosh, that does look very tall @amancalledgeorge, mine's in a pot!

      Yes one of the two I have has reached for the skies, will trim it a bit before we move out to make it a bit easier to manage for the new owner @lizzie27

        Can anyone id this rose for me. It has been here since before we moved in 12 years ago and I have never done much to it.

          It's a lovely rose, @wiseowl might or should be able to ID it. He'll need a bit of information about it.

            @Mrs Hillard is also an expert on roses, but there are so many pink ones. Is it scented? Does it have a lot of thorns? Does it repeat flower? How tall is it?

            Thanks @Busy-Lizzie and @Logan. Mrs Hilliard has said elsewhere that she doesn't know it.
            To my nose it doesn't have much scent, it is about 4'6" high, prickly lower down, but not the newer stems further up. I think it repeat flowers but this is it's first flush this year and I haven't paid much attention in previous years. DSCN0388.JPG
            The second stem to the right may be a sucker as it seems to be coming out of the ground about 4" away from the main stem, but as it has a bud I will wait until that opens.

            Katecat, if your rose was strongly scented, I would guess at 'Prima Ballerina', but I think you said it has no scent at all.. best scent is on a warm day of course.

                I love the metal panels you have behind her @Mrs Hillard - and in your general garden pics. May I ask where you got them please?

                  @CarolineL
                  ..thanks.. they're called Panacea French Arch Trellis with Finials. There are 2 types, the shorter ones came from 'The Range', and the taller ones from 'Primrose'. There are other suppliers that may be cheaper. Very easy as they come on spikes, you just push into the soil, providing it's not too stony.
                  They've withstood all weathers here, I find them very useful.

                    Thank you @Mrs Hilliard, I will have to find someone with a better sense of smell than me!

                        Opening blooms on 'Bathsheba' are, I think, some of the loveliest in the rose world.. they don't always age well though, but easily forgiven.. the scent reminds me of freshly cut grass.
