    The local corn mill used horse and carts to haul grain and flour about, and as a kid me and my friend used to cycle the same route on the way to school. We would grab hold of the cart to get a free lift. One of the cartmen was a grumpy old git and used to tell us off if we tried that. The other was a nice old chap and turned a blind eye. Mind you it was quicker to cycle past them.
