 That could be your problem then Kandy as I said earlier or tried to.. You need to load the Fuji software & download direct into that.. Mr Kandy says you have the Fuji software loaded but it will now work using a downloader you must connect the camera direct to the PC... Much much safer way to do it... Sounds like using the downloader could maybe be your problem with a tiny bit of human error..

Hi Marley, sorry I might have not read your post properly yesterday as I was trying to do four diffrent jobs at once and was a bit upset to say the least.:o

We used to attach cables to the cameras beofore I had my Fuji,I have just checked the Kodak and there is a slot where the different bits go,but then someone sugested to get a card reader as it was a faster way of getting the photo's onto the computer especially when Mr K had something like 1,900 to download,so I brought him one for Xmas the other year and have always used the card reader ever since.

When Mr K had a look at the USB cable in the reader the connection bit seemed loose and he thought it must have been affecting things so he has binned that one and fitted another cable and it seems fine now.

I am out tonight babysitting so if he has time he will have to have a man fiddle with it and see what he can do.I have asked him if he can put what photos I have got of the fun day onto a disc so that when the lady comes round she can have the disc and then if we get the missing ones back she can have them as well.:)

Thanks for your time and explanation on things:thmb:

Kandy, I helped my cousin recently who had 'lost' some precious photos on her laptop. Her laptop became unusable (maybe a virus) and she had no other backup copies and could not make any copies of her photos . We eventually managed to recover most of her photos except for one which had got corrupted. It was this one bad photo that was preventing us transferring all the other photos. It was only trial and error that narrowed it down to this one file, and took me several hours of faffing about.

This doesn't help you much, just that files/photos can get corrupted or deleted by hardware/software as well as human error. I hope you manage to recover the missing photos, all I can suggest is that you use Windows File Explorer and perform a search on "My Computer" for "*.jpg" files, then click on 'sort by date/time' just in case the computer has hidden them away in a different folder from normal.

Hi everyone, just to let you all know that Mr Kandy has managed to retrieve the lost photo's with the aid of the link thta GlenW gave us.While I was out last night he followed the instructions and they found them and let him preview them as thumbnails and then he had to pay for the authorisation beofre they would let him retrieve them.A few of the photo's have been corrupted and Mr K said that could either have been when the card reader was having a dodgy connection or when I pulled out the cable.

Many thanks for everyone for their advice and taking the time to help me with my problem:gnthb:
