We've been incredibly lucky with such clear skies to watch all this - fantastic!

I was watching with binoculars too - indescribable.

Smashing pictures everyone congratulations. Sadly I forgot about it til taking the dog out, the moon was just a crescent of silver, the rest red. I shall wait a bit and hopefully get a picture of it reappearing.

Superb! But strange that here in NE it passed from left to right and the diamond ring effect was on the sides, not the top. How could that be?

Got some funny looks from my neighbours, tho but, standing out in the garden with binoculars at midnight!

    Brilliant photos everyone.
I haven't even bothered to look at mine. Even on full zoom the moon was just a small blob in the middle of the picture. My old SLR Canon AV1 would have been just right for this situation but I haven't got any film. Never mind because I have captured it in my memory. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

The moon was back to a brilliant disc in the sky around 1 a.m. It was almost like daylight out there.

Absolutely fantastic pictures everyone, and the colours! Pete, your white on black was striking too. Thanks for putting them up for us all to see, I keep going back again and again to marvel. It was a bit overcase here but we did get to see it albeit a bit hazy.

Had a great night out in the peak district last night, I think it was almost as busy out there as it was in the centre of Sheffield!

these are a few of the shots i managed before my fingers dropped off with frostbite! [IMG]

Seems everyone got chance to see the eclipse but for those who missed it, there's another one on 28th Aug this year, you'll just have to jet off to the States to see it!
