I hope you won't mind a few more.
We chose this tour because it featured many places to do with native American indians which interested both of us.
Crazy Horse Memorial, South Dakota, this is an ongoing project started about 30 years ago commissioned by the Lakota indians who felt that their 'founding fathers' had no statues or anything solid for future generations to see unlike Mt Rushmore.
This may take another 40/50 years to finish as it is at least ten times bigger than Mt Rushmore, the model shows what it should look like when it is finished.

Lovely photos Srongy:thumb:.I have been following Korczak and his families work since a work colleague of Mr Kandy's visited the place some three years ago and lent us a book all aout it.It is hard to believe that this self taught Sculpture did a lot of the work himself and is actually buried within that actual part of the mountain. What a shame it won't be finished in our life time but I is one place I would really love to visit:)

Your photo's show it off well close up:thumb:

Love the photo's of Mt Rushmore and the mountain photo's as well.Fantastic, and many thanks for sharing them with us:thumb::)

I seem to remember that the man who built the original hotel was called Reuben. Must have been about a 100 years ago. No, I don't remember him building it  :D :D

No, we certainly don't mind a few more photos, Strongy, please keep them coming!

All brilliant, every one of them, and Marley phrased it nicely about the extremes. Each one has its own beauty, whether stark and wierd, green and lush, or gigantic man-made history figures.
