Ooo can't really go there I would win it hands down
Really can not put on here what happened
Basically sleeping naked, mosquito bite, swelling similar size of a half litre Fairly Liquid bottle
Most embarrassing having to show it to the Lady Chemist, and trying to explain ZAN ZANTE bite in Italian Then she had to have her friend assistant confirm it

Mosquitos dont touch me, when my blood comes into contact with them, they dissolve.

I hate to say this, but there is no poison what so ever in a mosquito bite.
The female will bite you in order to drink blood, you may be slightly allergic to the mosquito saliva, but the lump you get is caused by your own body reacting to the bite itself.
If you then rub it YOU can infect the bite with anything you may have touched. The best thing to do is to wash the area with soap and water.

I googled and 3 different sites all said pretty much the same thing.

I still maintain that if you take an antihistamine daily you will not get bitten ... but, if you do, it will not fester.

The mosquito is a vector for malaria and west nile fever to name but two diseases caused by bites, though they are unlikely in the UK but there's been some cases of west nile fever in mainland Greece recently.
Most bites are just flipping annoying and just how annoying depends on personal tolerance. I don't react much but OH does and we spend about five weeks every year near salt lakes that host a very healthy mossie population, on a greek island. OH takes antihistamine starting about ten days before we go and this reduces her reaction, she also plasters herself with 80% Deet of an evening.

Antihistamine alone doesn't stop you being bitten but it does reduce your body's reaction to a bite. You can take it orally or apply topically or both. As had been already mentioned it's important to avoid scratching a bite as that's how infection can be introduced. You can reduce the 'itch' by applying ammonia via a stick or gel or by by one of the little electrical gizzmos that apply a small electric shock to the site of the bite ( a bit like accupuncture).

Some unfortunate souls are very reactive to bites and this is now becoming recognised as "Skeeter Syndrome" (google it).

Well actually I do have one a copy of which was kept by the Lady Chemist
Only I do not think it would be allowed on here :-)

The extreme pain was much worse than the embarrassment, and I cry to this day
that the pain was so exteme I could not contemplate using my proudest moment

I had some friends who thought it would be a good idea to sunbathe in the nude. They were out fishing at a fairly secluded lake. They had both been drinking and fell asleep. When they woke they discovered that their white bits were no longer white. The guy walked like a cowboy for a week and the gal couldn't wear a bra. Not to mention not being able to stand touching each other. I guess it's an effective method of birth control!!
