Mulch sheet for veg bed?

    No it's the wires I use to support the asparagus when it gets tall. Not thought about electrifying them - it might encourage the sparrow grass to grow up straighter :D

    Yes Shiney, we are very lucky with our garden. The soil in this area is mainly clay/sand and quite heavy but our garden is on the site of an old orchard/farm and in the early 19th century cartloads of good Dutch loam were spread on it to a depth of over two feet. The loam came as ballast in sailing ships returning after exporting roof tiles and grain to Holland.
