You get used to it. Skulls still get to me though.

Loads of people were buried within churches, and in the church walls.

Probably a body under this effigy.

Not bad, we've gone from Multi Storey Car parks to Human Remains in less than 20 posts:dbgrtmb:

Not a church this time but a Medieval Cottage.

Thats me steam cleaning the timbers of a wattle & daub partition that has been left exposed. The Cottage burnt down when a halogen lamp caught fire to the thatched roof.

Major re build of the place, involving girt steel joists, now they were scary.

See the door frame on the right, I found a single human vertibrae under it. Some sort of ritual protection.

While we were stood around discussiong who to call about it, the Thatchers dog came in sniffing around.

When he got near the hole where the bone had been he howled & backed off without turning around or taking his eyes off the hole:OUCH:

I've forgotten which village this church is in,

Its in a Dorset Valley, but i'd have to look on the map, just remember there was no mobile phone signal at all, so we all phoned the guy running the job about 30 times each day.

When he left the valley his phone didn't stop beeping for half an hour, 167 missed calls:heehee:

His nephew really hated him, he left a 2 second silent answerphone message each time, so he had to go right through & delete each one.

Thats where the wet bit of the Olympics will be held this year.

Can't wait to see Melinda rowing across there with her huge ice cream cornet on her head:dbgrtmb:
