Long live radio I say, I cannot believe how many songs I have loved to listen to and have forgotten about, only to be reminded when I wasn't expecting it.

Lolli, Scott McKenzie's song has been a favourite of mine since day dot and sums me up, mini skirts, crochet tops, flowers in my hair in the 60s (until I went into Dolly mode) ... thank you for that ... xx

I wanted to put up Climax Blues Band and Couldn't Get it Right as I was backstage when they did that concert in 1976 and shared my popcorn with the bass player as he was from Dawlish Warren in Devon where my aunt lived ... but I seem to be having problems with sound on YouTube so ...

Roders ... I choose to ignore it thank you ... :)

I've been adding to my new jukebox.

This one, I've "tarted it up a bit."

The old one now has Motown and 50/60s classic pop.

This new one will be some 70/80s MOR type pop (although I have got stuff like Free's "All Right Now" and Ace's "How Long,") some Doo-Wop, classic standards and jazz.

I recently bought some mint copies of these. They were hard to find.

I like anything with a good tune, it doesn't have to be "popular."

Pearl Jam are a great band. The lead singer Eddie Vedder is quite a critically acclaimed singer and sang a cover of "You've got to hide your love away" for the Sean Penn film I am Sam.

Here are two versions of 'Autumn Leaves'.

The first is by Eva Cassidy who puts a wonderful amount of feeling into it.

The second is by Stan Getz who plays it in a very mellow style.

I bought this LP in Harrods in 1961, it was an "import."
I've still got it but I bought the CD too when it came out many years ago, as the record was beginning to get a bit worn.
Of the five musicians, only the pianist is still alive and he's 91.
I've many recordings of "Autumn Leaves" but this has remained my favourite.

    Miles Davis at his best.

If I just listen to him talking, he sounds like Jimmy Hendrix.
    I've just noticed he's on BBC4 on Friday 19th, at 8.40pm.

On the subject of "One man bands"

    Here's one.

He wrote the song, played all the instruments and provided all the voices.
This was over thirty years ago before "sampling," it's just over-dubbing.
It comes from a double album I bought at the time. I found the single on eBay.
