Everything I've seen on here are all classics and many are my favourites. Doesn't matter what era, genre or style you have a preference for there will always be performers and songs that can be enjoyed by all.

Another singer I have always liked is Miriam Makeba (Mama Africa) who died in November. She only wanted to be a singer and performer but became a world symbol for human rights.

For those of you old enough you may remember her No. 1 hit "The Click Song". Here are a couple of others.

Nina Simone is one of the best.

I've always liked this song. It was done quite well by Mary Travers but has been covered by many singers including Nina.

The tune was used as the theme for the BBC series 'Film ....' with Barry Norman. It made a lot of money for the writer.

Pete, most of my musical taste is from the past! Quality music overcomes age differances.

Thanks Claire. I do have a download I got some time ago with the video but can only play it via iTunes. I've recorded from the speakers as a ringtone for my mobile but the quality is not brilliant. Meanwhile, I shall enjoy Sunshine Superman, especially as the sun is shining outside after hours of torrential rain! Oh how I'm looking forward to the end of this miserable winter. Especially when I think of the 1000 tulip bulbs I planted for a client. I wonder how they're faring?
