Unfortunately some of the algae is black and doesn't come off even with the pressure hose. It sometimes makes it look like bird pooh that has gone black.

The back of the seat has three of the signs of the Zodiak and the seat has another three. The supports are Griffons - I think.

I finished planting my Perennial bed yesterday, also put in about 150 bulbs; wild tulips, dwarf daffs, crocus etc. here's a few pics.

One thing I'm quite proud of is that everything bar the 2 clematis (they were only £1.20 each) was either free off freecycle/neighbours or grown from seed. Even the reed fencing and obelisk were free :thumb:

I'm just going to mulch everything when I empty a compost bin a couple of weeks.

Brilliant, Biblo, must have taken some time to do, but think of what it's going to look like next year with all that colour.:D

            Update....

So far I've completed the perennial bed and planted about 150 bulbs (pictured earlier)

Continued clearing beans, toms, weeds etc from the veg patch.

Harvested and cleared all tom plants that were in pots.

Put fleece cover and new plastic cover on my small "blow-away" greenhouse and moved some plants in to it.

Tender fuchsias have been moved in the shed or indoors, but not cut back yet.

I've taken a multitude of cuttings from different plants.

Removed bedding plants from around the plum tree and mulched it.

Weeded around the raspberries and mulched those too.

Next stop complete storage of tender fuchsias for winter and think about lifting the cannas before our first frost and also empty our compost bins that are full of lovely compost; then need to mulch the newly planted perennials.

After that I have my large "blow-away" greenhouse to put up, an arch and buid some planters :phew: :D

It's great when there's still things to keep you ticking over :thumb:

Blimey Bilbo, you have been busy! I've achieved absolutely nothing in my garden for weeks. I'm still trying to get my house to rights after getting shot of the builders.

Mind you the weather has been so bad here it's not been nice to work out there anyway.

Keep up the good work! :dbgrtmb:

            Well I've had a busy afternoon in the garden today, managed to get a bit done;

Cut down the runner beans and cleaned the canes and put them away.

Moved one compost bin to the veg patch.

Used some of the compost to mulch the newly planted perennial bed and our apple tree.

Put the rest in the veg patch for later use.

Cut the grass in the veg patch.

Cut back my last tender fuchsias and put them in the shed for now.

Now got my feet up in front of the tv and pc with a coffee :D

            Well done Sargent:dbgrtmb:

All i've managed to do was pot up some winter salading that I sowed a few weeks back.

And tidy up my sheltered lean to

Cleaned out the shed today (boy were there some big spiders  :D) and insulated the sides with some laminate floor underlay (it's surprisingly good at it too :D) and made a space for my echiums, fuchsias and cannas when I've sorted them out :thumb:

The plants will also have some fleece wrapped round them when it does get cold :thumb:

              Well another day and another few hours in the garden tidying up and getting things ready for the winter;

Moved and emptied compost bin no.2 today to the veg patch (compost piled up in the veg patch too).

The area for my large 'blow away' greenhouse is now cleared and ready.

I'm really pleased with my progress this week; making the most of the 'ideal' gardening weather :thumb:

Well, it sound like you're keeping busy, Bilbo:heehee: How big is your "blow away" Greenhouse going to be? There's always some jobs to be done. I've been stuck in the House most of the day refurbishing a Bedroom. I've still got to get a full sized carpet up the stairs and then lay it in the Bedroom, so every thing breakable on route has to taken off the walls, moved out of the way, or removed from the bedroom, which is a pain. Once it's done I've got more bulbs to plant along with some more Wallflowers. In another month I'll remove some lower branches of my Acer Brilliantissimum as they've extended over the path to the pond and I get wet on the way to there when it rains. :WINK1::rolleyespink:

The Greenhouse needs a clear out and clean out as my Tomato plants are still in there along with other plants. I've to to dig out the lower half of my compost heap and trundle it over to the sites of the climbing roses for when they arrive next month. There's always something!!:D

Hi Armandii, my large "blow away" is a walk in one, so will give me much more space for seed growing etc...

I'm going to spend some time putting it up though as I want to reinforce the frame and make sure it's well anchored before putting the cover on. My wife got it me for my birthday earlier this year; she knew I'd love a proper greenhouse one day, but funds won't stretch to one so this is the 'interim' solution and I love it . I have plenty of wood and other materials that we've got off freecycle so I'm confident that I can secure it and strengthen it against the wind :thumb:

We've started cutting back all the plants and the beds are starting to look rather bare, but they also look neat and tidy. I'll be chacking the lawn edges to see how they are going but as it has been so dry all year they seem to be OK. I may not need to get the laser cutter out :heehee:

I've been spending the last 2 weeks aerating, scarifying and adding winter lawn fertilizer to several lawns (it's hard work)

also been mulching with thick layers of well rotted organic manure to plants/shrubs (especially the tropical/exotic plants such as palms etc)

After being rained off yesterday, I was back in the garden this afternoon and managed to put up the arch I bought from Wilko's for a couple of quid :thumb: That is now over the entrance to my veg patch and looks pretty good; not decided what to grow over it yet though.

Also cut back and moved my cannas that were in pots; didn't cut them back hard just the taller shoots so that I could fit them in the shed to continue drying them off before cutting all the stems off.
