Its a drawback growing Helleborus 'Niger' being white the specks of soil spoil the blooms appearance.

Its a few years since i quit growing Hollyhocks,..at the end of each Season i tended to discard the plant when it finished blooming,..mainly because of the space just one Hollyhock would take up but also due to the unsightly appearance of Hollyhock Rust,..still the odd Hollyhock pops up each Spring,..as like today.

While waiting for new blooms in my garden the video below might brighten up viewers days,..
the video made by my friend 'Bella' who resides in Australia though the video was made on her visit to California Mendocino Gardens.

MENDOCINO COAST BOTANICAL GARDENS ✿❀ڿڰۣ The only public garden in the continental United States directly in front of an ocean... (stretching from highway 1 to the pacific coast)... this 47 acre garden oasis on the Califorian Coast is located at Fort Bragg in Northern California. MENDOCINO COAST BOTANICAL GARDENS... or more affectionately know as the 'Garden by the Sea' is a paradise of foliage, plant life and nature working in harmony with mankind... as well as a magnificent forest of pines, a nicely groomed easy 1/2 mile walk leads to the spectacular rocky coastline and craggy bluffs overlooking the rugged Pacific Coast. Along the edges of the bluff are plants adapted to poor, rocky soils and salt-laden winds. This rare botanical jewel offers everything from colourful floral displays to thunderous waves... the mild maritime climate makes it a garden for all seasons. The gardens are known for its rhododendrons, with peak season April through May.

My Greenhouse has a sort of light Perspex Panels so when there is a storm,..like just now,..the wind blows the panels which are on top,.. inwards,..then they make a booming noise as they pop back into position,..so today i placed matting on top then a large stone on each panel to keep the panels inwards,..its worked fine,..oh the stones were not too heavy for purpose :pathd:

Delphiniums protruding from the soil today,..so i had to cover them with Chicken Wire as in the past i have lost some to birds breaking off the new shoots while they searched for worms.

Today was the time to cut back the foliage on my Amaryllis Bulbs,..i always wait until new shoots appear before doing this,..in the belief that while there is healthy foliage showing since the last blooms appeared,..the bulb is still alive.

                          New Shoots.

I love Kaffir Lilies, even for their luxurious leaves ... would like to see your when in bloom. I am thinking of getting some mixed colour ones.
