Heavy rain thrashed a lot of plants but they will recover in time.

    Hollyhocks still doing well.

Lovely to see your cats past and present @glengarry23 ... I had a cat once who sat on the roof of the old cottage where I used to live and she used to catch bats when they flew low over the roof. She used to bring them into the house, dead of course ... poor little things .
I don't know how you managed with all those cats at the same time though, one is enough for me, they are lovely animals, friendly and everything, but they think they own you ! and they make me worry when they disappear for hours at a time or stay out until the middle of the night and I can't sleep until I know they are in the house.

I do like those Alstromerias, are they hardy or do you have to protect them in the winter ?

@Michael Hewett ,..those Alstromerias are half hardy,..Perennial,..with few diseases and Pests,..likes some sun and will tolerate shady locations,..they have long lived flowers,..certainly a keeper,..i should have had them long ago but as you see with the foliage they look nothing like the usual Lily foliage so i must have pulled them up when they were with the other young growing Lily plants.

Ah yes there were lots of cats,..and one very strict older cat,..in fact my present cats mother,..she never allowed them to soil in the house and i never even needed a litter tray,..yes that old problem of waiting for them to return each morning and for meals was always a worry,..thats pets though :),..they let me live with them :cat-kittyandsmiley:

The rain doesn't seem to have spoiled your plants. I'm sorry to hear you've had a wet period, it's been the same here but today was sunny and warm. I hope you get some summer weather soon.

@Michael Hewett ,..anything that was tall and top heavy was thrashed,..Foxgloves/Musk Mallow were the worst,..i didn't give much hope to the Alstroemeria but its hardier than it appears,..not a bother on it,..oh its fine down to -10C.

That's a nice big Hosta @glengarry23 Do you keep them in pots ? I do and they hardly ever get attacked. When I grew them in the ground they always got eaten away.

Look at those buds on the Alstromeria Philip! I have learnt the hard way now that mine need filtered sun. They both have been put in the ICU area (the Reading Room) at the NE corner of the house and have now picked up slightly.

The Rosa Korresia is lovely. Mmm, strong scented. I get some potions and lotions from Bulgaria made with Bulgarian Rose, heavenly.

Good afternoon @glengarry23 my friend what a wonderful Garden you have I have really enjoyed sharing it with you and your lovely Rose "Korresia" its a beauty:smile:

Just a little bit of trivia;)

                      Deep yellow Floribunda.
                      Registration name: KORresia
                      Exhibition name: Sunsprite
Bred by Reimer Kordes (1922-1997) (Germany, 1973).
Introduced in Australia by Roy H. Rumsey Pty. Ltd. in 1974 as 'Friesia'.
                      Floribunda.
Deep yellow. Strong fragrance. 25 to 30 petals. Average diameter 3.25". Medium, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters, high-centered, ruffled bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Ovoid buds.
Medium, bushy, upright. Medium, semi-glossy, light green foliage.
Height of 2' to 30" (60 to 75 cm). Width of up to 2' (up to 60 cm).
. Can be used for beds and borders, container rose, cut flower or garden. Prefers cool sites.. Disease susceptibility: very disease resistant. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.

Hi Michael,..they are very prone to attack when planted in the ground in most gardens,..some gardens can get away from attack,.. at least so i am told,..mine always has slugs visiting so i must keep my Hostas in pots,..plus the added Neem Oil Spray Mix,..the gardens that don't need protection must not have Slugs or Snails,..hard to believe,..in pots goes a long way to have healthy Hostas,..i spotted one of yours,..a big one as well,..looks good and healthy.

Hi Wiseowl,..not trivia at all but useful information to anyone with roses or thinking on having roses,..great post.

I was always confused about this rose name,..be it advertised as Rose ( Rosa 'Korresia' ) or Rose ( Rosa 'Sunsprite' ) then found the Reg name is Korresia and the Exhibition name Sunsprite,..then there it was,.. also advertised as a David Austin Rose and still is,..of course if one reads carefully it reads sold by David Austin,..a tad misleading.

I don't remember fully the saying but it is something like,..A Rose is a Rose by any other name :)

You have so many plants in your garden, it must be an interesting place to walk around.
Nice to see Foxy Molly peeping down the path in one of your photos

Thank you, I have a few Hostas and they are all in pots.

That's an old tradition here also. The Welsh word for July is 'Gorffenaf' which translated to English means 'End of summer' ... so August is autumn.
                              (Gorffen = finish/to end, Haf = summer)
