I have not being feeling well for some time,..three painful problems at the same time,..no pain killers prescribed,..caused my system to go haywire,..i could not see anything but doom and gloom heading my way,..so off to the undertakers i went to book my own funeral,..it was weird selecting the colour of the coffin and did i want it open or closed and a satin lining,..sounds comfortable,..oh and where did i want to be cremated,..County Cavan or Dublin,..i decided on Co Cavan as i never liked the drive to Dublin when alive,..who knows i might be aware of that drive when in my comfortable box.

Booked and paid in full on 11/04/23.

          Oh Philip :yikes: !!!

I am at a loss for words..not due to you pre arranging your funeral..lots do and I have also been looking into it too, but because of the seriousness of your combined illnesses.

Forgive me for saying this but in times of pain we can at times get a sense of impending doom.....have you been told of your outlook by your medical team ? Or is it a case of the pain and discomfort making you think in a general way of getting your ' house in order'.

Can you not take any painkillers......even a bit of relief is better than none.

Keep strong Philip and take care.xx:grphg:

Philip, I love your gardens and always enjoy the pics you share with us. I'm sorry to hear you're in pain and hope something happens to shift your body away from this nasty condition.

It might amuse you to know that I have a free cremation coming to me. Yes, the undertakers had somehow duplicate charged me for a relative's cremation. I am grateful that there is no time limit on when it must be used! :heehee:

I'm sorry you are in such pain and wonder why no painkillers have been prescribed, that's odd. Could you not buy some ? Maybe they would not give you total relief but shurely they'd be better than nothing at all.

I wonder if you have been told your life is nearing its end, or is that how it seems to you.
I am not belittling your comment but I am wondering about the wording, it doesn't sound to me as if you have been told categorically that you have very little time left.

I can understand when in a lot of pain i
t all feels pointless at times (I'm thinking of my late partner Beryl now, and how she was) and I feel that myself sometimes.

Anyway I hope you'll improve, and that your garden and beautiful surroundings will help.
                  How's Foxy Molly ??

Hi Balc,..thanks for the liking the roses.

I always had an injured spine due to someone crashing into me and i coped with that for years by just using a rub,..as time passed the pain increased and i still managed,..then i decided my Doctor should give me something to ease the pain,..the medication prescribed was Difene Capsules,..nearly a year later i was rushed off to A&E,..the Difene had damaged my tummy lining,..that caused Reflux on a daily basis,..with the aid of anti reflux tablets i could control the pain of the reflux but with the various change of anti reflux every nine months because my system got used to each of them i was sometimes without a change until i could contact my Doctor,..one week end i needed a change and so had two days without meds,..the reflux went from tummy to lower chest,..then into the upper chest,..acids and gas got to my heart and caused a cardiac arrest,..i sorted the cardiac problem,..then a groin hernia popped out through the damaged tummy lining,..still have that and nothing will be ever done once i can ease it back inside myself,..painful yes when out and worse when easing it back but better to endure that rather than be in agony then rushed to A&E,..5 times last year.

The fact i have the damaged tummy lining means even Paracetamol causes more pain,..i can take that in a drip when in A&E but nothing else,..none of the above worries me or puts me in a bad mood,..my worry was who would look after my dog if i kicked the bucket,..so i sorted out that problem,..then decided to make sure if and when i did die everything would be as i had instructed the undertaker and my solicitor,..plus the executor,..so apart from pain i am a happy bunny :doggieshmooze:

                          Hi Upsydaisy,
Ah yes you hit the nail on the head with saying is it the pain and discomfort making me think in a general way of getting my 'house in order',..the cardiac people and the hernia group don't work together or seem to ever link with each other,..neither intend doing anything further,..any pain killer even very mild ones have a bad effect on the damaged lining,..i was prescribed Tylex,..after just two days of them i was rushed off to A&E,..there was something in Tylex that caused the problem,..anyway i listed everything i ate or drank and eliminated tea at breakfast time,..cold milk in cereal first then tea causes no problem in that order but not the reverse,..little by little i am getting there,..boiled chicken but not roasted,..seemed obvious to me but the medical people should have suggested that,..yes the impending gloom didn't help.

Thanks Victoria,..i had some help in the garden this year,..my neighbour has a Brother who does great odd jobs he moved my water butt from the right side of the house along with the downpipe to the left side of the house then lifted heavy pots to another position,..as for the blooms,..they thrived without me doing anything but dead heading :)

                                Hi Michael,

So far they have tried a few pain killers that stated 'Easy or gentle on the tummy',..none were mild enough for a damaged tummy lining,..i am just cutting out eating or drinking anything that activates the pain.

With 5 problems at the same time and each one causing less mobility one could be on a downer,..stressed yes,..then as the medics are wary of doing anything that might cause yet another problem i felt i needed to get my house in order,..got there at last so no worries.

Ah Foxy Molly is doing great,..next door takes her into her grass garden and i have a dog walker who takes her for a walk in the evening,..i only do one walk before noon.
