With so much space consider grasses, persicarias, sanguisorbas and gauras for a relaxed long flowering moving garden :)

I've already got a couple of persicarias waiting for a home :) but I'm a bit unsure about grasses as I would love to have them as I never had them in the last garden (which was a definitely something I should have done) but I'm on heavy clay and I'm just not sure they would do well as all the ones I like seem to prefer well drained spots! Any advice/suggestions greatly appreciated! :)

Wow! After all that work on your previous garden six acres is definitely going to be a challenge day dreamer! :) You created a lovely garden and no doubt will get to grips with this new one too. I think my biggest challenge if I was in the same situation would be knowing where to start. Good luck and keep us posted please. :)

Miscanthus varieties, molinias, calamagrostis and others will do well there day dreamer as will many others.
Which persicarias? Some are thuggish but the ampexicaulis varieties will be excellent.

Um, I have no idea which! oops, I went to a plant fair and bargained some bits and bobs for next to nothing and just though they are persicaria and will work down by the pond/lake/pond thing we have! (note to self must try harder to figure out what I'm actually buying rather than get carried away! :heehee:)

and yes, at the moment I have no idea where to start! I figured I'd live with it for a while before starting anything and deffo get some advice from the wonderful people on here!
