Oh, what a shock to come home to! TG your house is okay and that the mud and muck just stayed in the garden. I remember thinking how lovely to have a stream in the garden and then to have this happen. I hope you will be able to salvage some things and get your garden back together.

Sorry about your garden. Mine just had about 3" of flooding at the bottom and the pond flooded too. And I've clay loam soil but it drained away the next day. Hope your house is ok, I'm glad I live where I live no flooding here even though the Mersey is on one side and the Dee on the other. Just a few huge bits of flooding on certain roads which flood all the time! due to blocked drains!!

Yikes!!!!! How awful!!! But the main thing is you are all safe, and the house wasn't flooded.

Did you enjoy your holiday, by the way??

You will probably be surprised at what survives, but we will all send you replacements for what you've lost.

(and to think I had to get the hose out last Thursday, as everything was wilting in the garden!!!)

So sorry to see how your idyllic stream has turned into a swamp. How are things looking today?

The river here in Dumfries floods regularly into houses and businesses - it must be heartbreaking. The rain is torrential here as I type, where is it all coming from?

I will gladly send you plants too. Perhaps you could open a thread with a plea for plants - we can let you know what we could offer etc.

Do let us know how things are.
