Great work Dips. You've given me an idea for around my raised vegetable beds...no grass, pavers instead.

So quite a bit change has happened. A fence is now up :-)

I have a lot of painting ahead of me and have ordered 8 samples from cuprinol. This bit behind the sheds will be painted in highland marsh like the rest of the fence back there but the bit in front of the shed i want to paint a colour thats similar to the hedge opposite.

Then i can dig out my new border and as you can see i have started digging out where the lavender hedge will be down the side of the path

      Its slowly getting there :-)

Nextdoor still have to remove the hedge by the house and put a fence up but its almost there

It's coming on a treat Dips! :dbgrtmb: When health issues are involved it makes the challenge more rewarding, but don't over do it! :)

@Sheal i have got pacing down to a T these days so i know when not to push my body to far. PLus i really cant be bothered dealing with Post exertional malaise and being stuck in bed

But at the moment I cant crochet too much or garden because I have had a trapped nerve in my left arm/shoulder for 3 days now that wont release so I did a garden plan on photoshop of what i want my garden to look like

There will be a few more shrubs like hebes than pictured and honeysuckle all along the back fence and another climber over the arch but im not good enough at photoshop to do that but this is what i am aiming for

oh and the colour of the roses isnt exact or the hydrangea next to the pampas grass as i want a glam rock hydrangea for there but there wasn't any good enough pics on google lol

I already have the plum, apple and pear trees and the pink pampas grass. I also have the purple asters already and astilbe seeds and obviously I have the lavender plants for the hedge altho I have lost two. I also have 3 roses just need to get one more as I will be having another arch the other side of the path mirroring each other and will have a roses at the sides of the arches.

Other than that i need to get the pink hydrangea incrediball, gauras, the burning bush and I want to stick a camellia behind the shed next to the burning bush because there is quite a gap and i want something that is evergreen but not really fast growing to block it.

I also have the seeds for the creeping thyme lawn as well and some other flower seeds that will be scattered throughout but the picture gives you a general idea.

                it will slowly come together

It sounds and looks like you've got your garden plan totally organised. :dbgrtmb: I couldn't work with a plan because I'd be changing it along the way. I go with how I feel at the time which is typically me, I don't like uniformity and routine although I'm meticulous with everything I do. We can't change how we are can we?:)

I'd like to see the pictures when it's finished please. :)

@Sheal this is just what i have visualised in my head. I wont necessarily stick exactly to it and it will change and develop as i do but i have a degree in interior design so i'm use to seeing visualising planning and adapting.

i do need to plan carefully what i plant tho so its all hardy and minimal work just so i can manage it and I don't have loads to do and can plod along at a casual pace.

I dont think I will be posting any pictures that look anything like that until next year but hopefully i can get it done quicker

As you say the best plans can turn out so different even if you are an interior designer. :) Like you I have health issues that restrict my time in the garden so like yourself I have to limit what I do, it's hard when our brains want to do so much but our bodies won't let us. :doh:I'm gradually turning my garden over to perennials to cut down on the workload.

I'll still look forward to the pictures though when you and the garden are ready. :)

Yep its a pain isnt it i painted some if the fence and now im stuck on the sofa for the rest of the day but means i can plant a honeysuckle that is growing really quickly in a pot.

Most of my plants will be perennials and hebes etc so its easy peasy. Have you got a thread with your garden on?

Oh and if you have any easy care beautiful plant suggestions feel free to share :-)

No there's no thread with my garden on, it's pretty boring. In the nine years I've lived in my present place it's had a total renovation inside and the gardens were a nightmare. My back garden had to be completely levelled and re-designed, it's still not quite finished as I was working on my bungalow in between. The front garden was completely empty and I only started work on that two years ago. The owner before us was not a gardener and the previous owners to her didn't know how to garden, they had some pretty strange ideas that didn't work! :doh:Perhaps I should put a thread together so that members can see what has been achieved to date.

Ideas for plants.....I have sandy soil as I live approximately 250 yards from the sea, what suits my garden may not suit yours. On the other hand the weather can be pretty nasty here during the winter months and any trees/plants have to be able to stand up to that too. What sort of soil do you have please, so that I can give you a few ideas?
